Kevin Albanese

Kevin grew up in Waterford graduating
from Waterford High School and then the
University of Connecticut in 1981. He later
earned his Masters of Science in Information
Sciences from the University of New Haven.
In his professional life he is a Certified
Information Systems and Security
Professional (CISSP) and also holds several
other information security-related
certifications including, a GIAC Certified
Forensics Analyst.
Kevin began fueling his passion for
officiating in 1987 when he joined the Eastern
Connecticut Board of Approved Football
Officiating.
As all officials do, he began his career
working youth league games in Southeastern
Connecticut. Since those early days Kevin
has worked 20 CIAC state playoff games,
three of which were championship games.
He has been a Referee for a good portion of
his career but also worked the wings and
back judge positions.
Kevin has also been active in the
administrative side of officiating.

been the Interpreter for the Eastern Board
since 1999 and is also the Assistant
Interpreter for the CFOA.
Along with those duties Kevin has served on
the Executive Board, the Better Officiating
Committee, and has been the technical
liaison for the Eastern Boards website. He
also conducted the New Officials Clinic for
the ECFO throughout the 1990s.
Kevin and his wife Diane have two children
Brian and Tracy, son-in-law Jeff, and a
granddaughter Maren. On a fall weekend, if
he isn’t working a game, you can usually find
Kevin on a sideline feeding his passion for
photography, taking pictures of his fellow
officials.
